This festival presents the delicacies of Namdo in one place to spread the excellence of Namdo cuisines nationwide through cheerful programs and exhibition halls including the master's halls, themed halls and 22 halls for each city/county. 22 halls present an array of unique cuisines of 22 cities/counties in Jeollanam-do. Gangjin-gun has specially provided a booth in the themed hall to commemorate its 3rd participation to present unique dishes of Gangjin.

The Namdo Food Culture Festival is a thanksgiving ceremony and a harvest ceremony that wishes for prosperity and well-being of the year. The tenth month ceremony of offering the representative foods of 22 cities/counties in Jeollanam-do is held. The tenth month of lunar calendar is the month with the highest moon of the year and the best month to offer new harvest to the god. Since our ancestors regarded the tenth month of lunar calender the most sacred month of the year, it was also called 'Sangdal of tenth month'. From old days, our ancestors held a harvesting ceremony in the tenth month after harvesting of the year. The Namdo Food Exhibition Hall, the representative program of the festival consists of themed halls, master's halls and city/county halls that display beautiful dining tables in diverse colors and rich aroma to give out the tastes and styles of colorful Namdo food.
