Blossoming realism study in Joseon

House of Dasan, located at the valley of Mandeoksan Mountain that looks down into the Gangjinman Bay in a glance, was a place where Dasan Jeong Yak-yong compiled realism study in the late Joseon Dynasty through around 600 books including Mokminsimseo, Gyeongseyupyo and Heumheumsinseo in around 10 years during his 18-year exile in Gangjin. There are buildings such as the House of Dasan, Dongam, Seoam and Cheonilgak, and heritages such as Jeongseok, Yakcheon, Dajo and Yeonjiseokgisan that are also known as 'Four Scenic Views of Dasan'. Including the House of Dasan, these heritages are integrated into 'Jeong Yak-yong Heritage' and protected under Historic Site No. 107.
