Biscuit-Firing

After patterning and drying, celadon are biscuit-fired at a kiln. The first firing at 750~800 degree Celsius is to provide it with suitable solidity to receive glaze and to reduce the absorbing ratio.

If heat is not properly controlled during biscuit firing, the celadon will break. It is more difficult to stack and heat the biscuit firing than the 2nd firing. Incorrect timing or inadequate fuel will instantly damage all the products.

After the firing, the products are cooled for 4-5 days inside the kiln, and then retrieved for selection.
